55 document templates
that fill themselves in.
Most template sites hand you a blank Word file to fill in by hand, every time. These generate a finished .docx from the database that already runs your work — invoices, quotes, proposals, statements of work, contracts and letters. Set it up once. Generate one per record.
Filled from your live data
The document pulls from the same database that runs your projects, clients and hours. Change a value, generate again, it updates.
Line items expand on their own
A repeating section writes one line per item. Invoices, quotes and reports always match the record behind them.
Edit the wording in Word
Download, rework the layout and branding, put it back. The field mappings ride along — no re-setup.
The legal, contract and HR templates are professionally drafted starting points, not legal advice. Each ships with a note to that effect — have a qualified professional review any legal or HR document before you use it.

Frequently asked questions
What people ask before signing up.
What is a document template?+
A document template is a Word (.docx) layout with placeholders for the parts that change — {{Client Name}}, {{Total}} — attached to one of your databases. When you generate, Ascend fills each placeholder from a record and downloads a finished .docx. Ascend ships 55 pre-built document templates across six families, and you can upload your own.
Are these templates free?+
Setting up templates is unlimited on every plan, including Free. Generating finished documents is metered per calendar month: 5 on Free, 100 on Solo, 500 on Studio, and unlimited on Enterprise. The templates themselves cost nothing — only the documents you generate count toward the monthly number.
How is this different from downloading a Word template?+
A downloaded Word template is a blank file you fill in by hand, every time, for every client. An Ascend document template fills itself from the database that already runs your projects and clients. Change a value, generate again, and the new copy reflects it — no copy-paste, no mail-merge spreadsheet kept in sync on the side.
Do invoice and quote line items expand automatically?+
Yes. A repeating section fills one line per item from the record. An invoice with eight line items writes eight rows; a quote with two writes two. Totals and tables always match the underlying data.
Can I change the wording and branding?+
Yes. Every template is a starting point, not a cage. Rename fields, add your own, or download the editable template, rework the layout and branding in Word, and put it back. The field mappings stay attached, so it keeps generating with no re-setup.
Are the legal and HR templates legal advice?+
No. The contract, agreement, and HR templates are professionally drafted starting points, not legal advice. Each ships with a note to that effect. Have a qualified professional review any legal or HR document before you use it.
Stop rebuilding the same documents by hand.
Pick a template, fill a record, generate a finished Word document. Then do it again from the next record.
